I did not use 5 gal buckets, I used 25 gal molasses buckets so I only water once a week. Tree are healthier using the root feeder

Works as advertised. I ordered three Tree I-V Root Feeder DIY Kit. It was easy to assemble in my buckets. I had to move my feeders around to get a flow, but once I found the sweet spot it works great.

Doesn’t work. Water flows out too quickly.
Tree I-V empties at the natural rate of your soil, which can be fast or slow. Either way, it will stop wasteful run-off experienced with surface watering, which is the purpose of the drip irrigation you seek. A quick deep soak with Tree I-V is much more natural than slow drip, therefore better for the tree.
